March 18, 2020 – Ocala, Florida…
Our new rookie nursemare, Present showing us just how maternal our mares really are!
This filly was born this morning at a whopping 30 days premature and only 88lbs. Sadly, her mother did not survive and with the quick actions of our experienced clients, the baby was pulled to safety.
This filly was absolutely exhausted by the time she met her new momma, so she was slow to teach how to nurse. After a good amount of time, we decided to let her rest and then Present said, “wake up, it’s time to nurse kiddo!” ❣️
Instinct says the milk bar is around here somewhere- needless to say, our first-time nursemare Present has the patience of a saint with this feisty little filly. She is full of spunk, perhaps that’s why she came into this world 30 days earlier then expected!
UPDATE: May 6, 2020
We also got to stop in and see “Present” and her filly “What”
Hard to believe this filly was 30 days premature by looking at her now! She is such a character.
