May 14, 2019: This lil guy gets an “A” for effort on the nursing gymnastics. Squeezie got her first chance to be a nursemare today and she happily accepted the challenge with no sedation needed. Squeezie will have her work cut out for her, this lil guy is full of himself at only 7 days old!
*****Big shout out to the Dr’s, Interns and staff at NC State Vet Hospital. What a great group of people, lots of good vibes and energy from everyone, it really shows in their work and is so nice to be around people that have such a strong drive to do right by the animals.*****
Exploring mom! This lil guy was rejected by his mare, so with no real bonding time with his own species, this interaction was so cute to watch, he finally got to really explore around. Squeezie is completely blind in her left eye, so watch how she interacts with him, nickering to him when he is on her blindside and how she carefully rolls with her legs, without seeing him, she knows he is there.
Often times our mares will lay down and have a good roll in the fresh shavings after the pairing, it’s so fun to watch the foals try figure out what exactly mom is doing.
May 19, 2019: from Wendy Goldberg Ehrlich – “Our rejected 4-day old colt cared for by ColdSpring’s new Nurse Mare Angel, Squeezie at NCSU Equine Hospital ?
They are now home, happy and healthy Squeezie is a delight!!!! ????”
October 10: I must say, we have some pretty amazing clients! Our mare Squeezie came home last week after her weaning looking fabulous, she was so loved and cared for while she was off being a mommy to the very spunky lil Arabian colt.
Today we got a nice surprise in the mail for Squeezie aka “LemonDropChic”
Thank you Wendy for loving our girl as much as we do.
